Old Post House in Marstons Mills features four businesses owned by women

After her husband, Dennis Mecarta, postmaster of Marstons Mills, died from tuberculosis at age 27 in 1885, Harriet “Hattie” Crocker Mecarta became the first female postmaster, or postmistress, of Marstons Mills. She built the Old Post House at 86 Cotuit Road in 1897.
